“Dolce acqua” è un album concept, il primo dei Delirium ed esce nel periodo in cui in Italia, come nel resto dell'Europa, è in atto l'esplosione del rock progressivo.
In tutto il disco sono abbastanza facilmente individuabili i riferimenti alle sperimentazioni tipiche dell'epoca; alcune atmosfere musicali riprendono i primi lavori dei King Crimson, Colosseum e Jethro Tull. I testi sono ermetici e barocchi; quello del brano Johnnie Sayre è tratto da una poesia dell'Antologia di Sppon River di Edgar Lee Masters.
L'album non ebbe particolare successo, a differenza della celeberrima “Jesahel”, 45 giri-inno hippie dell’anno successivo, che ho deciso di postare con un link a parte, più che altro per ricordare i “bei tempi” ai cinquantenni (o giù di lì) - me compreso.

When listening to this album, you’ll be able to easily trace references to the “experimental” prog from the rock band of that time (some tunes and arrangements on “Dolce acqua” remind me of early King Crimson, Colosseum and Jethro Tull works). The lyrics can be labelled as mysterious and Baroque; in particular, the Johnnie Sayre lyrics draw inspiration from a poem taken from Edgar Lee Masters’ Anthology of Spoon River.
