PET SOUNDS - BEACH BOYS (1966)

"Pet sounds" was recorded by Beach Boys in 1966. Exactly 40 years after its release, a panel of top musicians, recording engineers and producers voted it "The greatest album ever made".
Essentially, "Pet sounds" is a solo work by Brian Wilson. Most of the songs were written during December 1965 and January 1966, in cooperation with Tony Asher. As many other musicians of that time, Wilson took drugs to 'enhance' his creative outburst. In any case, this is not the only reason why "Pet sounds" is so incredibly appealing. The 'concept' structure, the use of sound effects, the exquisite tunes and arrangements - these are only some of the elements that contributed to making this album the number 1 milestone record in the history of rock music.
All the songs are exquisite, none of them excluded. I just want to say that I place "God only knows" with the five best songs I've ever listened to in all my life.
I could go on and talk about "Pet sounds" without end. Yet, this is not the proper place to do such a thing. Therefore, I recommend that anyone who might be interested in this album should buy the excellent book entitled "The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds: The Greatest Album of the Twentieth Century", by Kingsley Abbott.
My personal mark: Excellent (what else could I have given?)

SI AVVICINA IL BEL TEMPO ... - SUNNY WEATHER IS DRAWING NEAR ...

Si avvicina il bel tempo. Fra non molto andremo tutti al mare. A mostrar le chiappe - e le tette - chiare ....
Che bello!

The sunny weather is drawing near. Soon we will be going to the seaside and show off our fair buttocks - and boobs ...
How nice!

IO E IL MIO GRUPPO ROCK (1979) - ME AND MY ROCK BAND (1979)

When I was younger, I played in several rock bands. And I had the honour of playing at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Turin - the very "Palasport" where the major rock bands of the Seventies used to play. Though it was not a large venue (seating capacity: 4,000-5,000), at least the acoustics were fairly good. Just the opposite of PalaIsozaki (also known as PalaStampa), the horrible venue in Turin where a lot of rock concerts have been held for some years.
The photos in this post present E.F.E. (the rock band in which I played the keyboards). Pictures 1 and 2 (from top) refer to the Palasport concert (January 1979) and a later concert at the Cinema Zenit in Turin (April 1979), respectively. The next pictures refer to the two outdoor gigs at Parco Ruffini, Turin (June 30th, 1979).

Voto personale (scarso / insufficiente / sufficiente / buono / distinto / ottimo / eccellente): Distinto.

Formula 3 were one of the favourite Italian rock bands in the early Seventies, also thanks to their collaboration with Lucio Battisti, who signed them to the newly born "Numero Uno" recording company and also produced their first album.
"La grande casa" is the fourth album by Formula 3. Released in 1973, it is considered to be their "weakest" work; yet, I think it is well worth being listened to, in particular "Rapsodia di Radius", "Libertà per quest'uomo" and, above all, "La bambina sbagliata" (a successful, outstanding hit of that time).
My personal mark (very poor / poor / pass / good / fairly good / very good / excellent): Fairly good.

FORMULA 3 (1973)

2. La ciliegia non è di plastica

ENCORE (BRIAN AUGER & JULIE DRISCOLL)

Voto personale (scarso / insufficiente / sufficiente / buono / distinto / ottimo/ eccellente): Ottimo.

Brian Auger is, together with Keith Emerson, one of my 'cult' artists, me being a keyboard player - or rather, I should say a "former" keyboard player keen on pop music.
The album I am posting today is a perfect blend of Brian Auger's virtuoso keyboard playing and Julie Driscoll's sweeping voice. (By the way, Julie Driscoll is also known as Julie Tippets, after adopting the surname of her husband Keith Tippets, the rock-jazz pianist who also played, among other things, with Robert Fripp's King Crimson).
"Encore" provides a rich mixture of rock, funky and soft jazz. Moreover, the two leading artists are accompanied by a band of first-rate musicians. You must absolutely listen to it!
My personal mark (very poor / poor / pass / good / fairly good / very good / excellent): Very good.

A me fa impazzire già così, vestita ....

Annagrazia Angolano is another not very popular face with the Italian TV viewers (at least, in Northern Italy).
Born in Taranto, Puglia (Italy), she won the "Miss Taranto" and "Miss Elegance Puglia" beauty contests a few years ago. And she did deserve it, didn't she? A typical, showy Mediterranean beauty (who also featured, among other things, in a famous TV commercial some time ago), she is a journalist and a reporter.
It's a real pity we cannot see Annagrazia in her birthday suit ... It would really be the top! She just turns me on like she looks in the picture above ...

Children enjoy toying with their favourite "family" pets. You can see above my beloved Pinky dressed out in his finery by my kids.
After being patient like a real fashion model for a few seconds (picture 1), my dog starts being really fed up with the whole thing and stretches his neck (picture 2) until he can't stand it any longer and yawns from boredom.
