THIS WAS (JETHRO TULL) - 1968

Voto personale (scarso / insufficiente / sufficiente / buono / distinto / ottimo / eccellente): Ottimo.

The first album by Jethro Tull is, in my opinion, the most genuine, spontaneous one released by the band. "This was" was launched in 1968 and is characterized by a "bluesy" feel (due to the presence of Mick Abrahams, former guitarist of the band) and, though to a lesser degree, jazz atmospheres (e.g. "Serenade to a cuckoo", a re-adaptation of Roland Kirk's famous jazz hit).
The latter is one of my favourite songs of the album, together with opening title "My Sunday feeling", "Beggar's farm" and "Dharma for one".
My personal mark (very poor / poor / pass / good / fairly good / very good / excellent): Very good.
