Registrato nel 1975, “A night at the opera” fu, a quanto pare, l’album più costoso mai realizzato prima di allora. Ebbe un enorme successo in tutto il mondo e, oltre a ciò, deve la sua fama al fatto che non furono utilizzati sintetizzatori. Tenendo conto delle innumerevoli sfumature sonore che i Queen ottengono nei brani, si tratta senz’altro di qualcosa di eccezionale.
Un disco "essenziale" nella storia del rock. “Uno dei dischi da ascoltare prima di morire”, come riportato in un’importante rivista musicale americana.

Recorded in 1975, the album reportedly was, at the time of its release, the most expensive album ever made. It won great success worldwide and, in addition to all of this, it is famous for not using any synthesizers throughout the recording. Considering all of the different sounds that Queen produces during the album, this is quite remarkable.
An “essential record” in the history of rock music. “A record everybody ought to listen to before passing away”, as a leading American rock magazine read.
