Bah …
In ogni caso, ecco “On the road”, con Jim Capaldi e compagnia bella.

I have so far posted, in this blog, only one album by Traffic, i.e. “Mr. Fantasy”, the masterpiece debut album. To say the truth, I’ve never been so keen on this band; I can just remember one day in 1973: I was attending the junior secondary school and some of my school-mates were older than me – they had failed the previous years’ exams. One day, one of these elder mates came to school with a long-playing record under his arm. I was positively impressed by the cover sleeve and read the title of the album: “On the road”, by Traffic. I also had the chance to listen to the record but I didn’t like it very much. In the mid 1980s I had a second chance to listen to “On the road” – this time in a more relaxed mood and with a different musical “taste”. “Well, this record doesn’t suck,” I said to myself. Finally, I got a digital, re-mastered copy of this album two months ago, and I did realize it was a really good album, despite the improvised sections that make the tracks a bit lengthy.
Now, I won’t be surprised if, in a ten years’ time, I will consider “On the road” as a real masterpiece. Who knows!
In any case, here’s to you “On the road”, featuring Jim Capaldi & Co.
