Lo scorso 16 aprile ho postato “Encore”, ottimo album di Brian Auger e Julie Driscoll. Brian Auger è un celebre tastierista rock-jazz, “maestro” dell’organo Hammond, il quale ha sapientemente abbinato generi diversi quali il jazz, il pop britannico, il rhythm ‘n’ blues, il soul e il rock. Nella sua lunga carriera (è tuttora attivo), Auger ha collaborato con grandi nomi del rock quali Rod Stewart, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin e Eric Burdon.
L’album che posto oggi è “Straight ahead”, pubblicato nel 1975 da Brian Auger & Oblivion Express, la band che da allora è diventata il suo “marchio di fabbrica”. “Straight ahead” fonde alla perfezione rock, jazz e funky, e si contraddistingue per la presenza di alcuni “classici” del repertorio di Auger quali “Beginning again”, “Bumpin’ on the sunset” e “Straight ahead”.
