UN ITALIANO A NEW YORK (AN ITALIAN MAN IN NEW YORK)

BASATO SU UN FATTO REALMENTE ACCADUTO.
Circa un mese fa, un normalissimo italiano è entrato in una banca di New York e ha chiesto un prestito di 5.000 dollari.
Il funzionario ha richiesto l’ovvia garanzia per concedere il prestito, così l'italiano ha tirato fuori le chiavi di una Ferrari (la macchina era parcheggiata in strada di fronte alla banca).
Il funzionario ha accettato l’auto come garanzia (il presidente della banca e i suoi funzionari si sono anche fatti quattro risate alle spalle di un italiano che utilizza una Ferrari da 250.000 dollari come garanzia di un prestito di 5.000 dollari). Un impiegato della banca ha quindi parcheggiato la Ferrari nel garage sotterraneo della banca.
Due settimane più tardi l'italiano è ritornato, ha restituito i cinquemila dollari e ha pagato gli interessi pari a 15 dollari e 41 centesimi.
Il funzionario gli ha chiesto:
"Gentile Signore, siamo veramente lieti per averla avuta come cliente, però, ci deve scusare …… abbiamo assunto qualche informazione sul suo conto e ci siamo resi conto che lei è un milionario. Ci chiediamo perchè lei si sia dato la pena di chiedere un prestito per 5.000 dollari”.
La risposta dell'italiano non si è fatta attendere:
“Secondo lei, dove posso trovare a New York un posto dove parcheggiare la mia Ferrari per due settimane al costo di 15 dollari e 41 centesimi, e sperare di ritrovarla al mio ritorno?”

About one month ago, a nondescript Italian man went to a bank in New York and asked for a $5,000 loan.
The bank executive in charge with lending money obviously asked the man to provide a guarantee. The man put his hand in his pocket and took out the key of his car, a Ferrari model, which was parked just opposite the bank.
The bank executive accepted the prestige car as a guarantee. Among other things, the bank manager and his assistants laughed at the Italian man who provided a Ferrari model worth $250,000 as a guarantee to obtain a $5,000 loan. Then, a bank clerk parked the Ferrari in a safe place, i.e. the underground bank garage.
Two weeks later, the Italian man went back to the bank, paid back $5,000 plus the interest accrued, equal to $15.41.
The bank executive asked him:
“We were glad to welcome you as a client of ours. Of course, we have gathered some information about you, and it appears that you are a millionaire. I wonder why on earth you needed to borrow $5,000 …..”
The Italian man answered promptly:
“Where else, do you think, I could have found a place in New York where I could park my Ferrari for two weeks, pay only $15,41 and be sure that my car would not have been stolen?”
