“Fragile” è il quarto album degli Yes – il primo con Rick Wakeman alle tastiere. La formazione del gruppo che ha realizzato “Fragile” (Anderson, Howe, Squire, Bruford e Wakeman) viene da molti considerata la formazione "classica" per eccellenza, in particolare perché a essa si deve anche il successivo “Close to the edge”, che viene generalmente considerato l'apice del gruppo.
L’album fu pubblicato nel novembre del 1971. Fra i brani di maggior rilievo spiccano “Roundabout” (il pezzo di apertura), “Long distance runaround”, “Mood for a day” e, soprattutto, “Heart of the sunrise”, manifesto rappresentativo del rock progressivo stile Yes.
”Fragile” è stato anche il primo album degli Yes ad avvalersi dell'opera di Roger Dean per la copertina – la prima di una fortunatissima serie di vera arte pittorica.

“Fragile” is the fourth album by British progressive rock band Yes – the first album featuring Rick Wakeman on keyboards. The five-piece line-up who made “Fragile” (Anderson, Howe, Squire, Bruford, Wakeman) is considered to be the “classic” Yes line-up – the one who would subsequently release “Close to the edge” (the best Yes record, in the opinion of a lot of fans and experts).
“Fragile” was issued in November 1971. It includes nine songs, the most outstanding ones being “Roundabout” (the opening piece), “Long distance runaround”, “Mood for a day” and, above all, “Heart of the sunrise” (a real masterpiece representative of Yes’s progressive rock).
It was also the first Yes album employing Roger Dean as artwork and cover designer.
