Avrete certamente notato che, pur essendo appassionato di rock progressivo, non mi esimo dal postare album che giudico interessanti e che con il prog hanno poco a che spartire .
Eccone quindi un altro: "Behaviour", quinto album del duo pop-elettronico britannico Pet Shop Boys. Per quanto abbia riscosso un enorme credito fra i fan del gruppo, si tratta di un lavoro che sembra quadrare ben poco nel contesto della produzione del duo, il quale realizzò il disco utilizzando sintetizzatori analogici, essendosi a quanto pare scazzato delle tastiere digitali e dei campionatori in auge all'epoca. Non a caso, "Behaviour" è stilisticamente diverso sia dall'album precedente ("Introspective") sia da quello successivo ("Very"). Ma rimane pur sempre un disco di piacevole ascolto, con i suoi dieci brani ricchi di interessanti soluzioni armoniche, ritmiche e melodiche - soprattutto, a mio modesto parere, nei brani "My October symphony", Being boring", "This is the place I waited years to leave", e "Jealousy".
Voto personale (scarso / insufficiente / sufficiente / buono / distinto / ottimo / eccellente): Ottimo.
You may have noticed that, despite my being keen on progressive rock, I sometimes post albums which I consider to be good and which have almost nothing to do with prog music.
Here's another such album: "Behaviour", the fifth record by UK electronic duo Pet Shop Boys, released in 1990. Although very popular among fans, in the context of Pet Shop Boys' other albums, Behaviour does not seem to fit. The band wanted to use analog synthesizers for this album as they were a bit fed up with digital synthesizers and samples at the time. Thus, "Behaviour" is stylistically different from either the previous album ("Introspective") or to the 1993 follow-up ("Very"). In any case, it is a very pleasant listen, with ten songs rich in harmonies, rhythm and nice tunes (my favourite ones: "My October symphony", "Being boring", "This must be the place I waited years to leave", and "Jealousy")
