ART EROTICA 2
Following the post dated September 23rd, here are some more ‘alluring’ images taken from illustrated tables by Giovanni Mulazzani, a graphic artist from Italian region Marche, who is relatively unknown to most people.

ALTA VALLE SUSA, DI BUON'ORA (HIGHER VALLE SUSA, EARLY IN THE MORNING)
I went to higher Valle Susa on business last week. So, I took this opportunity of taking a couple of snapshots (from the apartment where I stayed) with the new compact camera I recently bought.

ART EROTICA 1

(Top: after the sunset, somewhere in Valle di Susa, a small distancee off Turin - yesterday evening, at dinner time)
Though I can't stand any comparison at all with by blogger friend Marietto/Christomannos and with her very nice pictures, I wish all the same post a snapshot I took, also considering that I bought a new camera (by SONY, just to adversise a little ...).
I just hope I'll have time enough to take some more photos.

A few nice images taken from the comic strips found in 'Kamasultra', a collection of erotic strips designed by Benito Jacovitti (the best Italian cartoonist ever, in my opinion) which caused him to undergo heavy accusation and censorship by the Roman Catholic Church (who else could have done it???)

The Susa Valley ("Valle di Susa") has often been the focus of media and television coverage over the past few years, due to the vigorous protest by a lot of valley dwellers and people opposing the Turin-Lyon high-speed train railway line project. Yet, this post shows some 'quieter' and relaxing pictures of a place in Valle di Susa which I'm very familiar with: PIAN DEL FRAIS (among other things, I'm very familiar with the entire valley).
I do recommend that anyone who visits Piedmont and is fond of mountaineering should travel to Pian del Frais. You can get there NOT by driving along the 'racketeered' Turin-Bardonecchia A32 motorway (which, among other things, is quite expensive - about 10 euro for only one drive) but, instead, by driving along State Highway SS 24 (or State Highway SS 25) running from Turin towards Susa / Frejus Tunnel / French border (the latter route will also allow you to enjoy the sights of the valley). If you drive along State Highway SS 24, don't forget to divert to State Highway SS 25 just before reaching Susa and, next, turn left at the small junction with the "FRAIS / COLLE DELLE FINESTRE" signpost.
After travelling about 15 km along an uphill road with a lot of hairpin bends, you will get to the Pian del Frais plateau (altitude: from 1,400 meters a.s.l. and up). Unfortunately, very little snow has fallen this winter, so the mountain resort does not look quite appealing. But you can also visit Pian del Frais - and especially so - in summer, when you can trek along the numerous paths of the surrounding majestic mountains.
For more information, go to: www.piandelfrais.it
P.S. - One polemical remark, for the sake of information. Why did I refer to the Turin-Bardonecchia A32 motorway as a 'racketeered' one? Bardonecchia was, if I'm not mistaken, the first Italian commune to be dismissed after some of its city hall members were found to be 'hand and glove' with mafiosi from Southern Italy. Moreover, late mafioso Rocco Lo Presti was the first one to be assigned to a mandatory domicile under arrest in 1963 (and he was assigned to a domicile in Bardonecchia). Furthermore, it appears that the mafia and 'ndrangheta criminal organizations from Southern Italy began to 'settle' in the Valle di Susa just during (and after) the construction of the motorway. Just figure out what kind of persons got involved with the motorway building contracts ...

http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucento
I realize I may have get you bored with Lucento, the suburb where I was born and grew up; yet, I can't help posting some more vintage photographs. This is not an exaggerated attachment to my native place: I just feel affectionate to the past times (see also the 'sluttish' post preceding this one). There may be one reason: when you find it hard to be confident about the future, you'd better look back to the past ...
In any case, if you are interested in learning more about Lucento (and, above all, you can read Italian), go to:
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucento
UN'IMMAGINE STORICA DEL MIO QUARTIERE: LO STESSO LUOGO SESSANT'ANNI DOPO (A VINTAGE PHOTO OF MY NATIVE SUBURB: THE SAME PLACE, AFTER SIXTY YEARS HAVE GONE BY)
Esiste ancora e scorre sotto l'attuale Corso Lombardia!
Quanti ricordi ....
Those who don't live in the Lucento suburb (or in Turin, at large) may take no interest at all in the two pictures above which, on the contrary, mean a lot to me, as I was born and grew up and have always lived in this suburb lying on the North-West outskirts of Turin.
The waterway you can see in the centre of the vintage photo was referred to as 'bealera' (a typical Piedmontese word referring to a waterway used for irrigation or for collecting motive force) and was used by housewives to do the washing (my late, dear mum used to wash the clothes in this channel, in the 1940s and 1950s, when very few people could afford buying washing-machines). Well, the 'bealera' still exists (it runs underneath the present-day 'Corso Lombardia'). The old houses on the right in the vintage photo were taken down in the late 1960s, but I can still remember them as a child. By way of information, the partially visible shop sign in the left top corner of the older photo refers to a barber's shop ('Barbiere' in Italian) that is still in business: it is now run by a friend of mine called Nicola, the son of Mr. Carmelo Saffioti, an emigrant from Sicily who started this business in 1946! This friend of mine has continued the 'family tradition' in the hair-dressing trade, making this shop one of the oldest ones still in business in the suburb.
Everyting else has changed (save for a few small, old buildings) - for instance, the big dark red nine-storey block of flats on the background of the present-day photo ... the block of flats where my grandmother and some of my relatives lived (and where I also lived for a short time after I got separated from my former wife). And the house where I grew up and lived until I was 30 years old lies just round the corner. So many beloved memories ...

I have always been fond of trolley cars running in my city. Above all, they are environment-friendly means of transport, which do not release harmful substances into the air.
The pictures above show some models of the trolley cars that have, for more than one century, been carrying Turinese passengers (top to bottom: from the oldest, vintage cars, to the present-day, state-of-the-art metro vehicle).

People who visit
Though the 'Reggia' was opened about three and a half years ago, I haven't visited it yet. What a shame, me being a true Turinese ...

VACANZE ESTIVE 2009 (2009 SUMMER VACATION)
A belated set of 2009 summer vacation photos: me, my children and my little dog, in Venice (Italy). As you can see, my main concern was taking photos of the magnificent buildings looking over the Canal Grande.
