ABSENT LOVERS - Live (KING CRIMSON) - 1998

Voto personale (insufficiente / sufficiente / buono / distinto / ottimo / eccellente): Ottimo.

Recorded live in Montreal at their last concert on the 1984 tour, “Absent lovers” gives evidence of an awesomely recorded live show containing many of their classic tracks taken mainly from the “Discipline”/”Beat”/”Three of a perfect pair” trilogy from the early 1980s. The CD also captures some of the audience dialogue which I find rather amusing and helps give a nice live feel to the music. Songs are also extended slightly and some improvisation (which they were so famous for live) is added; moreover, the set list includes excellent renditions of “Red” and “Lark's tongues in aspic, Part 2” which, I think, are the best they ever performed!
A masterful live concert from a prog-rock group which managed to succeed during the hostile 1980's with a style - the final release from the 1980's line-up of King Crimson (and they could not have gone out in better style).
My personal mark (poor / pass / good / fairly good / very good/ excellent): Very good.

Excelent live record of the eighties line-up of KC. It's been years since I heard it at a friend's home. Now, I find it here. Hope I can download it! Thanks anyway. It's not as unavailable as I thought!
