LIVING IN THE PAST (JETHRO TULL) - 1972

“Living in the past” è un album doppio dei Jethro Tull, una sorta di raccolta dei successi del gruppo di Ian Anderson, la quale contiene una sfilza di brani tratti dagli album precedenti, canzoni mai pubblicate in precedenza, più alcuni 45 giri (compresi i lati “B”) che prima di allora erano apparsi solo sul mercato britannico. Il disco originale in vinile, il cui nome fa riferimento ad un 45 giri uscito nel maggio 1969, presentava al suo interno un album fotografico a colori pieghevole contenente più di 50 immagini della band (le pubblicazioni successive in formato CD contengono solo una minima parte di tali foto). “Living in the past” contiene inoltre due brani, "By kind permission of” e "Dharma for one," registrati dal vivo alla Carnegie Hall.
Un’ottima raccolta che fornisce un “quadro” quasi completo della produzione Jethro Tull dei primi anni - un album che consiglio caldamente a tutti di ascoltare.

“Living in the past” is a double album by Jethro Tull, a sort of quasi-greatest-hits collection of this band, which contains album tracks, unreleased songs, and a number of singles and side “B” songs that had initially only appeared as British releases. The album was named after a single released in May 1969. It was released in an elaborate gatefold packaging that contained a large colour photo booklet with over 50 photos of the band - subsequent CD reissues contain only a fraction of these pictures. Two songs of this album, "By kind permission of” and "Dharma for one," were recorded live at the Carnegie Hall.
A very good collection providing an overview of Jethro Tull’s early years – an album I warmly recommend that you should listen to.
