A distanza di anni, un'altra immagine simpatica del mio quattrozampe, ormai prossimo a compiere 9 anni, con seri problemi alla vista ma, comunque, sempre adorabile e simpaticone.

I'm posting again, after a few years, another pic of my beloved dog, about to be 9 years old, suffering from a serious eye disease and, yet, lovely and affectionate as usual.

Dopo una vita, ecco una foto curiosa del mio fedele amico.

Una foto presa di spalle, forse poco "fine", ma comunque simpatica. A proposito, complimenti al mio carissimo amico Marco, autore dello scatto.

I haven't posted dog pictures for ages. So I'll make up for that by posting some nice pictures of dogs, one of my greatest likings in life (after women, of course ...)

IL CANE 'CHIC' - A SMART DOG

I bambini sono noti per trastullarsi con le povere bestiole di casa nei modi più diversi. Ed ecco, allora, il mio Pinky bardato a festa dalle mie pesti, con tanto di papillon multicolore.

Nonostante la sua pazienza degna del migliore indossatore (foto 1), lo scazzo inizia ad affiorare con uno stiramento del collo (foto 2), fino all'inevitabile sbadiglio (foto 3).

Children enjoy toying with their favourite "family" pets. You can see above my beloved Pinky dressed out in his finery by my kids.

After being patient like a real fashion model for a few seconds (picture 1), my dog starts being really fed up with the whole thing and stretches his neck (picture 2) until he can't stand it any longer and yawns from boredom.

CHE VITA, CON I NOSTRI CARI AMICI! (A DOG'S LIFE. AND WHAT A DOG'S OWNER'S LIFE, TOO!)

Si avvicina il bel tempo, si avvicinano le vacanze e, tanto per cambiare, tutti noi proprietari di fedeli quattrozampe ci ritroviamo di fronte al solito problema: "No, mi spiace, non sono ammessi cani nel nostro ristorante"; "Mi spiace davvero, ma i cani non possono entrare nell'albergo"; "Guardi, se vuole entrare con il cane nel nostro campeggio, venga dopo il 20 agosto".

Questo è un campionario minimo delle risposte che mi sento dare quando vado in vacanza con il cane (cioè, SEMPRE). Fortunatamente, amo così tanto gli animali che, piuttosto, rinuncerei alle sacrosante ferie anziché lasciare il mio Pinky in qualche 'pensioncina' per animali.

I media giustamente sensibilizzano la popolazione: "Non abbandonate i cani"; "Il vero bastardo sei TU". Ottimi slogan, senz'altro. Forse non sanno quanto sia difficile spostarsi con un tenero cagnolino al seguito. O perlomeno, un cagnolino come il mio, di taglia piccola (nella foto in alto, lo vedete costretto a rimanere in auto per 5 minuti - e ripeto, solo 5 minuti - un giorno d'estate tempo fa). Certo è che se ti presenti con un pitbull o un rottweiler, beh, il discorso cambia ....

The weather is warming up, people are thinking about summer vacation and, just for a change, everybody who has got a pet (especially a dog) is faced with the usual problem: "I'm sorry, sir. Dogs are not allowed into our restaurant"; "I'm terribly sorry, but we don't let dogs into our hotel"; "Well, if you wish to stay at our camping site with your dog, why don't you call again after August 20th?"

This is just a basic repertoire of the answers I usually get when I bring my dog with me on holiday (that is to say, ALWAYS). Luckily, I'm so keen on dogs that I'd rather give up my well-deserved summer vacation instead of leaving my beloved Pinky at any of the so-called "pet boarding-houses".

Of course, the media try to make people aware of the problem: "Don't turn away on your pet", "YOU are the real bastard; your dog ISN'T", and so on. Very good catchphrases, indeed. Maybe they do not know how many troubles people travelling with pets are faced with. Or, at least, people travelling with such a small-size dog as mine (see my faithful friend in the photo above: I was compelled to leave him in my car for only 5 minutes - I repeat, ONLY 5 MINUTES - on a Summer day some time ago). Of course, if you travel on holidays with a fierce pitbull or rottweiler, well, that's another matter ....

CANI 'BUFFI' ('FUNNY' DOGS)

Come avrete notato, le donne e i cani sono una mia 'passione' (oltre alla musica, ovviamente - specialmente il progressive).

Pur non essendo d'accordo su chi concia le povere bestiole a mo' di pupazzi circensi, ritengo opportuno postare alcune buffe immagini di quattrozampe.

As you may have noticed, I have a craze for women and dogs (in addition to music - especially progressive rock).

Though I am against dressing dogs as if they were circus puppets, I thought you might like the funny dog pictures above.

RELAX CANINO ...

Come tutti i quattrozampe (cani, gatti e, a quanto mi risulta, anche cavalli, tigri e ippopotami), il mio Pinky adora le posizioni comode. Come nel caso della foto in alto, nella quale ha eletto a suo "giaciglio" personale il lettino di mia figlia. "Vita da cani", verrebbe da dire ...

IL MIGLIOR AMICO DELL'UOMO

Un'altra foto curiosa di Pinky, il mio fedele amico a quattrozampe, in un giorno assolato di inizio estate.

JIMMY ... ABBAIANDO

Qualche giorno fa ho postato la foto del mio fedele quattrozampe attuale. Ho sempre avuto la passione per i cani (seconda, nella mia graduatoria personale, solo alla passione per le donne ...) e in passato ne ho avuto un altro molto simile per carattere a quello che ho adesso, ma dall'aspetto ben più arruffato e "spennacchiato".

Quello che vedete in alto è JIMMY (Borgo d'Ale, VC, 25/07/1983 - Torino, 03/07/1997), mio fedele amico di un tempo, di cui ancora adesso conservo un caro ricordo.

Caro Jimmy, R.I.P. (sì, perché anche i cani hanno un'anima).

Questa sera voglio postare l'immagine del mio fedele quattrozampe meticcio: Pinky. Non ditemi che non è carino ...
