KILL TO GET CRIMSON (Mark Knopfler) - 2007

Moltissimi anni dopo aver ascoltato con piacere i Dire Strait (e averli visti dal vivo a Torino, nel 1981), mi ha fatto piacere ascoltare “Kill to get crimson”, l’album di Mark Knopfler pubblicato nel 2007.

Un disco niente male, con una copertina davvero originale tratta da un dipinto di John Bratby (“Four Lambrettas and Three Portraits of Janet Churchman”). Musiche decisamente più tranquille rispetto ai Dire Straits, il più delle volte dai toni pastorali, bucolici. Con tutto lo schifo di musica uscita negli ultimi anni, questo album se non altro tira un po’ su il morale.

Many, many years after I used to take pleasure in listening to Dire Straits (and after I had seen them performing live in Turin, in 1981), I was very glad to listen to “Kill to get crimson”, the album by Mark Knopfler released in 2007.

A nice album, with an original cover image  taken from the painting "Four Lambrettas and Three Portraits of Janet Churchman" by John Bratby. A quieter kind of music than the Dire Straits’ one, featuring pastoral, bucolic sound textures. Considering all the musical rubbish released over the past years, this album should at least raise your spirits
