“The pearl” è il tipico album esemplificativo della musica d’ambiente. Pubblicato nel 1984, è il frutto della collaborazione fra Harold Budd e Brian Eno, due artisti ‘ambient’ presenti spesso altrove in questo blog. Le atmosfere dell’album si basano su suggestive trame di pianoforte trattato, con aggiunta di effetti elettronici e suoni della natura.
Considero “The pearl” come uno dei massimi risultati nel campo della musica d’ambiente. A conferma di questa mia opinione, l’album fu acclamato anche dalla critica (tipico – un album lodato dalla critica in genere soddisfa al massimo anche il sottoscritto, e viceversa).

“The pearl” in an album representative of the typical ambient music feel. Released in 1984, it was composed by the ‘ambient’ duo Harold Budd and Brian Eno, two musicians that have often appeared in this blog. The album sound is mostly based on treated piano, accompanied by electronic effects and nature recordings.
I personally consider “The pearl” as one of the best achievements in the ambient music field. This opinion of mine is also supported by the music reviewers who warmly acclaimed the album at the time of its release (typically, albums praised by music reviewers are generally the ones I like best, and vice versa).
