1981, carcere di Imrali, Turchia. Tre detenuti ottengono la tanto sospirata licenza premio. Uno di loro, Mehmet, deve affrontare la vendetta del clan familiare; l'altro, Seyit, ha scoperto che la moglie, durante la sua assenza, è andata a finire in un bordello di Istambul e, pertanto, deve rimediare a quell'infamia con un delitto d'onore; infine, il terzo, Omar, decide di non fare ritorno in carcere e combattere al fianco dei guerriglieri curdi contro il regime di Ankara.

"Yol" (in turco: "strada", "via") è un film avvincente, vincitore della Palma d'Oro a Cannes nel 1982, ex-aequo con "Missing" (altro film di pesante denuncia politica, diretto da G. Costa-Gavras).

Assolutamente imperdibile!

1981: three prisoners return to their home places, on leave from the Turkish jail at Imrali. Mehmet has to face out his in-laws' vendetta; Seyit finds that his wife has cheated on him and her family insists on an honour killing; finally, Omat decides that he will never go back to prison and joins Kurdish guerrillas to fight the Turkish regime.

"Yol" (Turkish for "The road", "The way") is a captivating film: in 1982, it shared the Palme d'Or, at the Cannes Film Festival, with "Missing" (another movie, directed by G. Costa-Gavras, denouncing the evils of international politics).

A 'must' for all genuine cinema masterpiece lovers!
